Finding Your Inner Resource

Rachael Deegan MA LPCC & Ryan Hildebrandt 500 RYT
📆 Saturday, December 21st, 2024
⏰ 1 pm – 4 pm
🎟️ $40 per guest

This workshop includes a 40 minute inner resource based Yoga Nidra guided by Ryan followed by 1.5 hour therapeutic artmaking experiential, depicting your inner resource through the media of watercolors and pen and ink, guided by Rachael.

  • Yoga Nidra is a type of yoga focusing on deep relaxation and restoration. Yoga Nidra translates in yogic sleep. It is a guided process that promotes entering a state between awake and sleep, akin to that of lucid dreaming. This balance, or homeostasis of relaxed awareness promotes numerous benefits for our wellbeing. Benefits of Yoga Nidra include an increased ability to relax, decreased stress and overwhelm, improved memory, improved alertness, reduced pain and inflammation, improved immune functions, and overall healing in the mind, body, and soul.

  • Inner Resource refers to a place within all of us that is a well of healing, support, and wellbeing. Discovered through the guided Yoga Nidra visualization, your inner resource can serve as a calm center to return to, seeking comfort and protection in the waves and storms of life.

  • Therapeutic Artmaking is the process of utilizing the tools of art as a source of healing, focusing on the process, rather than the product; the journey rather than the destination.

Helper's Wellness Workshops

The Helpers of the World need help too!

These workshops are cultivated to support groups, teams, and businesses through professional and personal development with a focus on self care and psychoeducation. The emotional and mental tolls we helpers experience needs recognition and tender, loving care. At ISIT, we are passionate about caring for the caretakers through teaching them crucial tools for combating the negative impacts of compassion fatigue, high stress, vicarious trauma, emotional dysregulation, depression symptoms, dissatisfaction, and high turn over.

"Helpers" include teachers, social workers, non-profit  employees, guest services employees, public service employees, mental health workers, healthcare workers- anyone who uses their skills in the workplace to help others. They also include parents, caretakers of vulnerable populations, volunteers, and more!

Helper's Wellness Workshops have an Art Therapy foundation that provides individuals accessible, enjoyable, self expression based tools and a unique therapeutic experience that makes the world a more colorful place.

Grief Garden was a lighthouse in my week. Knowing I had a container each week for art and contemplation made a huge difference in my mood. Rachael created a beautiful space for us, and each week's prompts offered something new to explore- bilateral movement, printmaking, collage, Zen tangles, visualization, I loved every method we tried, and I especially loved making art in community. Rachael designed the perfect online space for that, and I am forever a believer in Art Therapy!
